TIMELINE OF DRUG-RELATED KILLINGS
Recording drug-related killings is a step toward seeking accountability from its perpetrators. However, this timeline of drug-related deaths does not aim to come up with an accurate number of drug-related deaths from two administrations. Instead, it seeks to visualize the trends on drug-related killings in the Philippines and how the numbers increased dramatically during the Duterte administration.
Before March 15, 2020, the data used to develop this timeline came solely from news articles from the Philippine Daily Inquirer’s online portal, Inquirer.net (www.inquirer.net). Since then, the data has been sourced from multiple online news outlets.
