State-related Violence in the Philippines in 2025

In 2025, 390 individuals were killed and 521 were injured in reported incidents of state-related violence, as recorded by the Sandatahang Dahas (Armed Violence) monitor of the UP Third World Studies Center. The police and the military account for 85 percent of the killings (175 civilians, 145 alleged insurgents, and 12 fellow state agents). And in a sign of resistance to armed state authorities, the civilian public caused 52 percent or 269 of all cases of injuries, which were mainly directed at the police during law enforcement operations.
