Emilian Gray Miranda, 36, is a brother to a poet-activist for commuters’ rights, and an owner of a water refilling station in the City of San Pedro, Laguna. In the afternoon of January 9, 2017, Emilian’s mother, perhaps expecting just another normal day at home, suddenly heard gunshots just outside their home where her son’s water refilling station is located. She rushed to where the scene was only to find Emilian dead and shot twice in the face. Security footage from that day reveals that he was approached by a single gunman at close range and then shot while he was preparing water bottles that were set to be delivered. Emilian, according to police, was listed under a ‘drugs watch list’ but whether or not he surrendered is uncertain. The police found no illegal drugs from Emilian.
